As a tribute to Longines' innovative spirit that has driven watchmakers from the outset, the Heritage Classic pieces are a combination of the brand's historic models' aesthetics and modern watchmaking techniques. This Heritage Classic "Silver Arrow", named after Mercedes-Benz's Silberpfeil or Silver Arrows race cars that dominated Formula 1 and other racing circuits of the mid-century period, is a revival of the 1956 original and features a slightly larger 38.5 mm stainless steel case that holds a domed and silver-tone opaline dial under a scratch-resistant domed sapphire crystal and bordered on by a polished fixed bezel. It also has silver-tone and luminescent alpha-style hands and applied, striated indices as hour markers. A polished silver-tone ring separates the main dial from the outer minutes track where thin luminescent strips are laid out every 5-minute intervals. The distinct domed crown at 3 o'clock and the Longines/Silver Arrow font styles are accurately reminiscent of the vintage three-hander. A brown leather strap secured by a stainless steel buckle completes the elegant and luxurious look. This watch has a solid caseback decorated with a supersonic plane flying through the stars wherein underneath lies the caliber L888, a Swiss automatic movement beating at 25,200 vibrations per hour generating up to 72 hours of power reserve and is water-resistant up to 30 meters/100 feet.
