Recreating the features of the original and official Cosmonauts watch which underwent an orbital baptism of fire aboard the MIR space station in 1994, Fortis under its Cosmonautis collection launched several new variations of timepieces that also embody reliability in time and space. This Cosmonauts chronograph, a.k.a. the Classic Cosmonauts Steel A.M. wherein the 'Steel' part refers to the bezel material while the 'A.M.' part refers to the light-toned dial color. It features a 42 mm stainless steel case that holds a striking silver-tone sunray dial under a scratch-resistant sapphire bordered on by a fixed stainless steel tachymeter scale bezel. The dial has applied and luminescent Arabic numerals and indices as hour markers, black pencil-style hands, and a day/date window at the 3 o'clock position adjacent to its protected crown and pushers. Laid out are three subdials displaying 12-hour, 60-second, and 30-minute counters at the 6, 9, and 12 o'clock positions respectively. Black and orange contrasts are evident via the different dial and subdial elements. Fitted with a matching stainless steel bracelet secured with a folding clasp. This watch has an exhibition caseback showcasing the ETA/Valjoux caliber 7750, a Swiss automatic chronograph movement with a 48-hour power reserve, and is water-resistant up to 100 meters/330 feet.
